NUTRI-BIO 1000
For Petroleum Spills On Water

This product was formerly listed on the U.S. National Contingency Plan Product Schedule as a biological additive. NUTRI-BIO 1000 is a patented complex formulation containing a broad range of organic and inorganic nutrients, energy sources, natural alcohol and enzymes from fermentation, and several biodegradable surfactants. This product accelerates the biodegradation of petroleum-based spills by enhancing the ability of naturally occurring microbial populations to degrade the pollutant into carbon dioxide and water.
 

GASOLINE SPILLS - OPEN WATER
For gasoline spills on water use 1 gallon of NUTRI-BIO 1000 for each 40 to 50 gallons of gasoline or like petroleum spilled.
 

CRUDE OIL SPILL - OPEN WATER
For crude oil spills on water apply 1 gallon of NUTRI-BIO 1000 for each 12 to 35 gallons of oil spilled depending on type and thickness of slick. TO MINIMIZE COASTLINE DAMAGE FROM CLOSELY APPROACHING SLICK: Apply 1 gallon of NUTRI-BIO 1000 for each 12 to 40 gallons of approaching spill.
 

MARSHLANDS
FOR LIGHT CONTAMINATION: Apply 1 gallon of NUTRI-BIO 1000 per 25 gallons of oil over 2 applications 7 to 10 days apart. FOR HEAVY CONTAMINATION: Apply 1 gallon of NUTRI-BIO 1000 per 15 gallons of oil equally over 3 to 4 applications, 7 to 10 days apart.
 

BEACHES AND COBBLED AREAS
Leave low contamination (.3% by weight oil to sediment) to nature. Heavy contamination (exceeding 3% to 4% by weight oil to sediment) should be manually cleaned before treatment. Medium contamination (2% to 3% by weight) should be treated with 1 gallon of NUTRI-BIO 1000 per 15 gallons of oil spill equally over 3 to 4 applications.
 

FIRE PROTECTION
NUTRI-BIO 1000 will extinguish petroleum based fires or retard flammability of spills. First spray the outer perimeter of the spill completely. Then spray the remaining surface of the spill with maximum agitation to accomplish emulsion.
